WE NEED SOME GOOD GAMES...ONE MORE GAIN

By Rahk Hamilton

Man I miss goodass games. I still play a lot of old games, well relatively old. I love the Jak and Daxter series, they're still some of my favorite games. That was on playstation 2, but on playstation 3 it had to be the Arkham games. I love a game with a good story, with characters leveling up and developing stories filled with plot twists and actually stakes in how things evolve.

Games today all seem to look good and all, but their replay value is very very low. Its like the characters are a ranging span of archetypes that just get in where they fit in. Where batman sitting on top of gargoyles, watching crooks in the dark is dope for batman, and even to a degree spider-man, its not good for every game to come up with their own version of night vision to try recreate the same feelings.

Jak 2 (the best of the series) has you being a lost boy in the future, being kidnapped and mutated into a gun blasting, flying car driving outlaw, saving the future that he himself doesn't even know he came from. But look at todays games. It's so rare to get that engulfed in a game anymore.

That's what made Red Dead 2 so fucking official. It was a breath of fresh air because you were so engrossed in the story and the characters. Why can't more companies learn from that. I can not wait for the next Red Dead, because although everybody got the stiff for GTA 6, if you break it down, GTA5's story was mid at best. It had a lot of story option, but it wasn't on the scale of psychology of Arthur Morgan's journey.
